Decided to take a ride around the north coast of Pandaria. I noticed in the distance there was a piece of land. Um yeah, I needed to go and find out what was on there. As I got closer I saw this island was bigger then I thought. Ohhh great that just means bigger things must live on there.
Meh, I can run... or hide, same thing.
Dags and I land on the coast and I guess I was too busy trying to not land in the water, I didn't see what was on the grass past the black sand.
CRIPES!!!! DINOS!!!!
"Dags don't move... they can't see us if we don't move..."
Just as I said that I remembered who told me that bit of information... Spammusubi. Sometimes she doesn't know what she's talking about. If Hellgurl was the one to tell me that, then I would have believed it. So I didn't want to take that chance here. I slowly looked around and saw a dead dino carcass in the water. Gross but we needed to hide for a bit and figure some stuff out, like if we were gonna continue exploring the island or take our leave asap.
"DIREHORNS!!!! that's what they're called!"
I tell Dags. Just as I said that, I heard loud pounding, the water started to shake, and I looked past the dead dino ribcage bones. "Dags move!" we got out of the way before the direhorn came crashing right into the carcass shattering the rib bones to pieces. We got back on land and it came back for us. Dags was able to taunt it long enough for me to get a couple shadowbolt casts on it. I didn't notice until it was too late to get out of the way.
Spiky tail went up, and then came right back at me. I went flying about 10 yards into the water. Dazed, I crawled back to shore and caught my breath while I watched Dags and my imps finish off the direhorn. Took a while for Dags to notice I was no where near the dead dino. He saw me and came to my side. I was too tired to walk around so I mounted up and explored that way. We rode around for a good bit staying out of sight of the other direhorns.
I heard a squeaking coming from some bushes around a tree. I got off my horse and went to see what it was. Oh boy, I didn't know how smart this was, but luckily my face didn't get ripped off.
A baby direhorn! Oh boy, I might regret this, but I wanted to keep it! I sat down and it came right to me. It looked so weak and sad. I coaxed it out of the bushes more and again I felt the ground shake and I turn around "Dags!" I yell as I put the baby back into the bushes and I run out of the way. My imps got the first hits on the dino so it went straight for them. Just as it was about to chomp my imp, Dags came charging towards it as fast as he could. Imp was safe but Dags wasn't doing so good. I cast health funnel on Dags and he regains his energy and starts hitting it harder. I know Dags doesn't like when I use health funnel on him, because it drains my own energy to transfer it to him. But I was fine and if I needed it I had a Healthstone in my bag. I help Dags a little bit with some shadowbolts and fel flames until the direhorn was dead, but I was too busy trying to make sure that the Direhorn runt didn't come out and get trampled. I took it out of the bushes, mounted up and booked it back to the shore. And we took off back to the Kun-Lai Summit coast.
I was so over this island.
When we got back I took out my baby direhorn and fed it some pearl milk tea I had and it loved that. Sweet! I was worried it wanted to eat like raw meat or something.
While I had Dags watch the baby dino, I went to check my mail. Vasarin Redmorn, Sunreaver Onslaught Quartermaster had sent for me to come and help them on Thunder Isle. Cripes! why now? I wanted to play with my new pet. Fiiiine!
Dags and I flew to Townlong Stepps and through the portal to Thunder Isle. Vasarin had sent me out to find some kind of mana crystal.
I found the crystal, strapped it to my back and Dags, baby dino, my imps and I decided to exploring.
We came across a neato looking lightning rod thingy. As we got closer the crystal that I put on my back started to glow a bright blue. I got tingly all over and lightning from the top of the rod shot straight at the crystal. Baby Direhorn was licking my leg right when the lightning bolt shot and he let out a cry. Not like a painful cry, but it sounded more like a "I want to eat something" cry. And then I started to think ahhh, ok this is where I'ma lose a leg. It will snatch it and run off. I knelt down to pet it him and calm him down.
The blue glow started to swirl around even more and then it started to seep into the baby direhorn. He started to shake like he was having a seizure... I stood up and Dags and I stepped back and my imps scattered. Oh my god I killed him, I killed the baby dino. I felt so bad. I ripped it away from its home, and then I electrocute it to death. I'm a baby dino killer! Noooo!
I hid behind Dags not wanting to watch it die. Dags starts to get agitated, and I felt him tense up as I leaned against his back. "oooooh" Is all I hear out of Dags. I peaked around him and I see a beautiful bluish grey adult sized Direhorn. He looked like a tough piece of battle gear, yet still so delicate. As I touched him he made the crystal glow brighter and I could feel energy coursing through him. He felt like hard stone yes but despite that he was still warm to the touch. Maybe it was from the lightning frying his insides, I don't know. He bent down so I could climb up. Oh my goodness! I just got another mount... a DINO MOUNT!!!! fricken awesome! I shall call you Slate.
We ran back to Vasarin and I gave him his gem and he was thrown aback when he seen Slate.
"Warlock, where did you get that Direhorn?!" he asked
"Um, I made it?" I answered in more of a questioning manner. Cuz really, I don't know if I made it. yes it was an accident on how he came to be, but I really didn't want to explain the whole thing to him. I felt bad for kidnapping the baby from it's home already. whatever yo!! I HAVE A DINO MOUNT!!!! This island was depressing me being all gloomy and junk."ok Vasarin... gotta go! peace out!" and back through the portal we went.
So I decided to take Slate over to the Valley of the 4 winds and have him graze in the calm fields with the goats and yaks.
